I started really getting into running when I discovered the camaraderie. It's technically an individual sport, but I really love the little wave, nod, and/or smile every time I pass another runner. It's like having a cheering squad the whole way.
Today is Sunday, known commonly in the running world as "Long Run Day". And it's raining. Crap.
I put my running gear on first thing when I got up, because then I can't take it off unless it's sweaty. It's a weird little thing but try it. There's something about running in the rain that brings out the nicest and most encouraging runners. Maybe it's just Torontonians who are so nice, but every single runner was waving and smiling. I even got a breathey "good morning!". Now I'm just running and smiling! What rain?!
It's times like this that I love this exercise. It was a wet but well worth it 10k this morning. And, I got my 10k back.
P.S. I LOVE THIS PICTURE!
I challenge myself... a lot.
