Chances are you've got one - or a few - things bothering you that you'd like help with and that's why you're here. Maybe you're looking for a Naturopathic Doctor who won't completely overhaul your diet (unless you ask), will work your must-haves into your diet, will work with the rest of your medical team, and won't ask you to take a zillion supplements just because they're "healthy". You'll find that here.
My name is Dr. Lindsay Self, ND. As a licensed Naturopathic Doctor, I help people make realistic changes toward better health, choose targeted treatments that will actually make a difference, and aim to get to the root cause of your health concerns. All by natural means.
A few things you should know about me: I love running, a good cup of coffee, physiology, and tacos. Those are my must-haves to maintain basic functioning. I'm a firm believer that there's a time and a place for everything, supplements are not for everyone, and that balance is key. I bring this philosophy to my work and I love what I do because of it. I don't claim to know everything and I love being fascinated by physiology.
I help patients set realistic and achievable goals because I believe better health should be just that. If it's important to you, it's important to me.
We might be a good fit if: You're ready to make some changes, even small ones, and would like some clear guidance. You're looking to try a natural alternative to pharmaceuticals first. You're skeptical about what the heck a naturopath does or can do. You've been told "you'll just have to live with it". You would like lab results or health issues explained in ways you can understand. You're okay with me sometimes saying "I don't know, but I'll find out". You're a runner or of a sporty nature (or would like to be). You love coffee and tacos. You like to laugh.
We might not be a good fit if: You're just not ready to take the plunge at this time. You're looking for homeopathy, reiki, or energetic medicine. You're anti-home-cookin'. You're a firm believer of 'ignorance is bliss' when it comes to your health.
Interests: Fertility, trigger points, and digestive "issues". It's an interesting combo, I know, but I really am fascinated by each one of those and very talented with an acupuncture needle when it comes to trigger points. Overall, I run a general practice and particularly love women's health and hormonal 'issues' including wonky or painful periods, PCOS, and fertility. I also love the physiology of the digestive tract and keeping guts healthy and functioning well. From the acute to the chronic, the insides and out, I'm ultimately interested in helping support a healthier community.
New Patient Update: I am currently pausing booking new patients. My good friend and colleague Dr. Mary MacDonald, ND is accepting new patients virtually (we're integrating care if you need to be seen in-person).
